MMFX steels offer corrosion resistance similar to stainless steel (but at a much lower cost) and superior strength and mechanical properties – most notably superior ductility over other high-strength steels. MMFX steels are low-carbon, chromium-bearing steels that form a chromium oxide barrier on the steels surface – the same mechanism which protects stainless steel. Coupled with a corrosion-resistant microstructure, MMFX is the cost-effective material of choice when specifying corrosion-resistant and high-strength reinforcing steels. MMFX 2 reinforcing steel is the cost-effective material of choice for concrete structures requiring corrosion-resistance and/or high-strength performance. MMFX 2 steels are currently commercially available in reinforcing bars (#3 through #14) and smooth round dowels (1 ¼ and 1 ½ inch) in distribution centers throughout the United States.

It is MMFX's goal to add other steel products with better and more economical properties through research and development efforts guided by Professor Thomas's “design by first principals” approach to materials development. MMFX’s Technology of Nanostructures is an "enabling" technology that provides an almost unlimited number of opportunities for further advances in the science and engineering of new materials.

Future proprietary steel products include sheet, pipe, plate, high-strength fasteners, castings, and wire.
